Paul is a regionally recognized banjo instructor, having taught banjo at Nimble Fingers, the Georgia Strait Music Camp, Wallowa Fiddle Tunes Camp, Foothills Acoustic Music Camp, and the Olympia Old-Time Festival. Back home in Vancouver, Paul co-hosts monthly open jams for the Pacific Bluegrass and Old-time Music Society.

Paul's workshops and instruction include:

*Teaching clawhammer banjo at any level

*Square dance calling workshops

*The basics of old-time social dance (Squares, Waltzes, and 2-Step)

*Leading jams and song circles

*Crankies - showcase with Q&A, or hands-on workshops featuring individual crankie building or illustrating a community crankie!

For many years Paul also taught square dance residencies at elementary schools. Over his career he taught at more than 200 schools in BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan reaching over 40,000 kids! Here's a little clip from those days. (Please note, Paul is no longer doing school residencies.)
