Paul is a unique performer with a varied skill set - you can find him calling square dances, leading jams, teaching banjo, sharing his “crankies” and performing both traditional tunes and original songs. As a community based artist, Paul loves telling stories, sharing skills, and bringing people together. Originally from Portland Oregon, and now living in Vancouver BC, Paul has been an active part of the West Coast traditional music community since 2002.

“I love to sing songs old and new and share the stories behind them. Traditional music is my inspiration. When I write my own songs, I use the directness and clarity of old-time music as my   template - even when I am writing from my own experience and from contemporary life.”
                                        - Paul Silveria
“Over his 15 years mastering the banjo and calling  square-dances, Silveria has built a performance style that combines historic tales and folk-standards with audience interaction and collective dances.”
Nathan Kunz, Revelstoke Review - July 28, 2018

“Square dance enthusiasts answer the call. Portland punk took an allemande left turn after raucous kitchen party.”
Rebecca Blissett, Vancouver Courier - March 02, 2016
